    The Challenge

    The fashion industry accounts for roughly 8.8% of global greenhouse-gas emissions. The lifecycle of apparel. from fiber production to retail returns. produces over 2 billion tons of CO₂e annually. Key drivers include overproduction, multiple sample iterations, air freight, and consumer returns. Traditional workflows rely on physical sampling, photoshoots, and global shipping at every stage.

    The Solution

    Using Lumoo's CO₂ Impact Calculator, we modeled three AI-assisted scenarios against a traditional baseline. By replacing physical samples with digital prototyping, eliminating freight through virtual try-on, and substituting computation for logistics, the study attributes most reductions to the elimination of physical sampling, global freight, and high return rates in e-commerce.
